The patties are then usually coated in breadcrumbs and pan-fried until golden brown. They are a great source of protein and healthy fats, as well as vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids.

How to make salmon patties?
- On a clean seafood cutting board, chop the fresh salmon into large chunks and place them into a blender.
- Pulse until the salmon is chopped into tiny chunks. (Do not over-blend, we don’t want a paste)
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, garlic, egg, Dijon mustard, mayo, hot sauce, lemon juice/zest, sea salt, and black pepper.
- Mix well until all ingredients are evenly blended.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into 4-5 patties, each about 3-4 inches in diameter. If the mixture is a bit sticky or wet, dust your hands with a bit of flour to help form the patties,
- Heat the olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the salmon patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve the salmon patties with lemon wedges and enjoy!
Can you make salmon patties without bread crumbs?

The patties may become a bit dry while reheating, add a small amount of butter to while reheating.
Tips and Tricks to a Perfect Salmon Patty
Use fresh salmon: Using fresh salmon is key to making delicious salmon patties. Look for wild-caught salmon that is firm and has a bright color.
Chill the salmon mixture: Chilling the salmon mixture for 10-15 minutes before forming the patties will help them hold together better and prevent them from falling apart during cooking.
Use a non-stick skillet: A non-stick skillet is ideal for cooking salmon patties, as it helps prevent them from sticking to the pan and makes them easier to flip.

Don’t overcrowd the pan: When cooking the patties, be sure not to overcrowd the pan. Leave enough space between each patty so that they can cook evenly.
Make them in advance: You can make the salmon patties ahead of time and refrigerate them until ready to cook. This is a great time-saving trick for busy weeknights.
Serve with lemon wedges: Squeezing fresh lemon juice over the salmon patties just before serving adds a bright, citrusy flavor that complements the salmon perfectly.
