French toast is a classic breakfast dish made by soaking bread in a mixture of beaten eggs and milk, then frying it until golden brown. It is typically served with powdered sugar and syrup, and variations may include toppings such as fruit, nuts, or chocolate chips. Another popular way to make French toast is with brioche. Brioche is a rich, buttery bread that adds a luxurious touch to any dish. When combined with chocolate chips and a custard-like egg mixture, it creates a heavenly breakfast treat.

Tips and Tricks to the Perfect Chocolate Chip French Toast
Use thick slices of bread: For the best texture and flavor, use thick slices of bread like brioche or challah. The bread should be at least 1 inch thick so that it can soak up the egg mixture and hold its shape when cooked.
Soak the bread well: Make sure to soak the bread slices in the egg mixture for at least 20-30 seconds on each side, or until they are fully saturated. It also helps if the bread is a bit stale.
Don’t overcrowd the pan: Overcrowding the pan can cause the bread to steam instead of fry, resulting in a soggy texture.
Use low-medium heat: Cooking the french toast on low-medium heat will help the bread to cook evenly without burning. If the heat is too high, the bread may cook too quickly on the outside and remain uncooked on the inside.
Let the french toast rest before serving: After cooking, let the chocolate chip french toast rest for a minute or two before serving. This will help the custard to set and make it easier to cut and serve.
